Conservation

From evidence to conservation

Research is most useful when it helps people make better decisions for wildlife and marine habitats.

Conservation activities

๐Ÿ“

Identify important areas

Use survey information to improve understanding of dolphin distribution and potential habitat priorities.

๐Ÿ“Š

Improve baseline data

Develop reliable information that can support future monitoring, assessment and conservation planning.

๐Ÿงญ

Support management

Communicate scientific findings so decision-makers and conservation partners can consider evidence when planning actions.

Working with communities and partners

Effective marine conservation depends on local knowledge, trusted relationships and practical capacity. Snubfin Dolphin Project supports collaborative approaches that can involve local communities, Indigenous Sea Country knowledge holders, students, researchers and government or conservation organisations, depending on the project.

Our principle: Conservation research should be respectful, scientifically robust, useful to partners and communicated in a way that can support real-world conservation outcomes.
